I bought one of these to replace an old aerial which was struggling to get some of the new Freeview digital channels, and as I live really close to the TV mast/tranmitter, this sounded Ideal from the other reviews.
However, after lots of trips up and down the ladder to make small adjustments in alignment and trying two different F-connectors, the signal was worse than the existing old aeiral (which was no better than a wire coat hanger).
Thankfully, as I bought from screwfix, I was able to very easily get a refund on this aeiral and bought a high gain wideband which was in stock in store, fitted this, and nearly 100% signal accross all the frequencies now.

These are excellent value for money aerials. Most people don't need the now common "high gain" Yagi aerials that fall apart or fall down in the wind and give dreadful gain at group A frequencies. Log Periodic aerials work in a different way and give true wideband performance - these should now be the default aerial for most users as new digital channels come on line needing wideband aerials. Lightweight with low wind resistance and good directional properties. If more gain is required a low noise masthead amplifier should be used - but the majority of users will not need to. At £7.50 these are a bargain and I use them wherever possible!

I used the supplied F connector without problems. The centre hole in the connector is a little tight but a couple of extra turns onto the cable with the help of pliers forced the inner core insulation through. Bargain at £7.50 for a log periodic. If you've used F connectors for satellite and terrestrial aerials before and you know what you're doing, then you should be okay. Well constructed product but if used outdoors remember to weather seal the connector boot with a little silicone.
