Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive but worth it Having previously bought Thompson's 10 year seal and it failing miserably on my garage roof (which I think is down to the overall condition of my roof being dusty or hard to adhere too) I opted for this given the reviews. My garage is a typical linked style around 6metres X 3 metres. Due to the above issues with previous paint I opted to put the special primer on first (again bought 2 tins and just ended up breaking into a second, no idea why screwfix don't have the primer?!) this made the first coat difficult to paint on but definitely made the difference in how it adhered to the old felt. I ended up using around 2 tins to completely put one good thickish coat on and then go over the cracks that had formed from the previous felt underneath (just to be sure) bearing in mind I don't have any leaks, this is purely to maintain the life of the roof. Dried enough with in 12 hrs to stand on and go over the bits I'd missed etc. Looks solid and feels like it will last a lifetime. Like I said, screwfix was the cheapest around, its just an expensive product on the whole. BUT if it prolongs the roof or stops leaks.... it's worth every penny extra!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product So easy to use, just remember to mix it as the rubber collects at the bottom while sitting on the shelf. Then just paint on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXPENSIVE, BUT THE BEST. I tried some cheaper products just a waste of money and time, after reading the reviews about ISOFLEX liquid rubber I thought I give it a try, well it certainly looks like a good strong stuff, sticks to everything and anything.I refelted my shed bought 1 tin of 4.25L just to seal around the edges and joints this stuff looks so good I realy should have just got this stuff in the first place and painted the whole roof with it without refelting but thats too late. I have now decided to prolong the new felt life by painting it all over with ISOFLEX and hope it lasts as long as it says on the tin,yes its expensive stuff but I think its worth it in the long run, if it lasts as long as they say and SCREW FIX is cheaper than all the other big names,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from isoflex liquid rubber roof looks awesome after application, for me i got saucepan big enough for 4.25 liter tin, then put some boiling water into saucepan then unopened tin into water up to half way up tin, left tin for 5 mins then took tin out and gave it a shake then put tin back in saucepan for another 10 mins, then gave it another shake then when opened tin gave it a good stir, also stir tin during application,2 tins were enough for me on flat a roof 3 meter by 2 and a half meter with a bit left over , i would recommend to use primer first and just pour and roll out, just use cheap roller and brush,i applied isoflex when temp outside was about 20 degrees

can this be applied to a butyl pond lining, if so would primer be needed and is it safe for fish?

I also notice that the cans contained a lot of mostly small fragments and the occasional small pea size noddle - is this normal with this product? It was a pain to keep picking these out of the painted surface. Thanks

Asked by: Templar
Thanks for your query. The Isoflex liquid rubber should be a consistently smooth liquid.

Recently applied 2 coats to a felt roof, unfortunately after 10 hours there was a heavy rain, followed by several showers in the following 2 days. Where puddles collected, it appears to left the finish a matt grey. Will this eventually change to gloss blk.

If I need to re-coat, can I just paint over the patches? - do I have to wait for a certain period? etc.
Asked by: Templar
Thanks for your query. Yes, another coat would be required as the rain fall has interrupted the film formation causing the hazy appearance. This will not recover and will require another coat.

Can 2 full thickness coats be applied

I have coated a timber boarded shed roof with isoflex today at the full thickness application rate. In case of pin holes, I wish to add another coat. Can this be full thickness again and applied with 24 hours of first coat.
Asked by: Wilkiee
Thank you for your enquiry. A second application at the full film thickness will fine. Application within the 24 hour period will be essential to achieve the adhesion between the two coats.
