Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and secure It just does the intended job without fuss. I made a single wrong connection and, just for the heck of it, decided to see what it would take to pull the connection apart. The cable (admittedly only fairly light gauge) snapped before connection would come undone. Can't go wrong at that.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from don't work with stranded cable I could not get a secure connection with 2.5 stranded wire. It might have worked if I'd soldered the cable, but that seems to defeat the object of the device. I have given a poor score, but I think, had I been trying to join solid core cable, my review would have been very different.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use, strong connection Used these for joining 2.5mm solid to 2.5mm stranded cables. With the solid core it could not have been easier, the multi-stand was a bit harder to get in with strands bending back (thus 4 stars). Trick was to fit the stranded first and twist the connector on rather than push it. That worked perfectly. Once fitted the cables are really well held.

Answer:
Thank you for your enquiry. The SpliceLine connector is only suitable for use on solid cables between 12-20AWG and stranded cables between 12-16AWG. Unfortunately, telephone cable is a solid cable between 22-26AWG.

Buried in plaster

Hi, can this product be buried in plaster or does it need to be encased in a junction box or covered in heat-shrik for this?

Answer:
If buried behind plaster leaving no access, the cables/wires should ideally be made using a maintenance free (MF) junction box. These connectors must be enclosed in a suitable enclosure, MF if no access can be gained to the connectors.

Answer:
To comply with current wiring regulations, all connections should be installed using a suitable enclosure. Although behind plaster board, if the connections are accessible, a standard enclosure or choc box would suffice. If no access or access is limited, the connections should be made using a suitable maintenance free (MF) enclosure.

Answer:
Hi, thanks for your question. SpliceLine wire connectors are not waterproof. If used outside, they would need to be inside a suitable waterproof enclosure.
