Rated 5 out of 5Â by NoNonsense 3 way motorised valve
Needed to replace leaking motorised valve in a hurry. Got this one as it was 4 wire. Price similar to Drayton except that was 5 wire. Check wiring before buying as it will save you time.
After draining the water, removed old unit and replaced it with this one, used the existing nut and olive. Perfect fit no leaks and works a treat. Don't forget the PTFE on the threads.
Compared to my previous unit, this unit has the valve portion (top bit) made from plastic which I think will be less prone to corrosion as the previous unit was corroded from the spindle and caused the leak. Only time will tell if this unit is good (leak free), at the moment is working fine.
Why cannot the manufacturer make unit that never leaks, don't mind if it just stops working. Clearing the mess from leakage is not worth thinking about.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by realale reliable 3 port valve
These are a good valve, they now have genuine "syncron" motors in them. A lot better than the previous Horstmann model which had cheap copy motors that failed quickly. Like all central heating parts(other brands of 3 ports included)
they do not like systems full of sludge !! If they start passing after a short time and your system is full of sludge don`t blame the valve, blame your system!!!!

This is really a review of Horsmann's poor quality and backward incompatible products strategy.
Firstly - I've had an F223 for less than 15 months and the head circuit board has blown.
Searched high & low for the receipt, can't find it so need to re-buy a head.
Secondly - Can't buy just the head!!!!! have to buy the whole head & valve.
Thirdly - can't even buy the whole thing and just bin the valve. As Fenderer (thank you mate) points out, the replacement product (Z223) head doesn't fit the F233 brass. So instead of a quick clip-on and wire-in I have to drain the system.
Lastly, the only good bit. Because Fenderer clued me in, I don't have to re-buy Horsmann.
