Rated 4 out of 5 by from Curiously similar experience Like the previous reviewer, I have had one of these on my wall for almost 20 years, and then this week it failed. Happily the same unit is still available, which made replacing it simplicity itself. All is now working again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from After adjusting was fine Had to recalibrate by moving the dial on its spindel and use an accurate thermometer to get true temperature as it was heating the room to 3-4 degrees hotter than I set it. It's fine now I spent three days tweaking!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Led fault Bought this to replace the same unit but without led. Wanted to know when it was on. So replaced with this one but the led has only lasted 2 weeks and packed in, but heating still works thankfully

Minimum Working Temperature

I have this Thermostat, but it doesn't seem to click on unless I set the temperature at a minimum of 21 degrees, regardless of how cold the house is. It's always been the same since it was installed, so not sure if I need to reprogram?

Why does the LED indicator lamp not work?

I replaced an old Sunvic with this and very happy. Wiring was the same so nothing to mess up. It works great and looks good on the wall but the LED indicator doesn't work. I returned it and swapped for another one and it's the same thing. Any ideas?

3 wire and earth connection

my old thermostat has 3 wires , red, yellow and blue..the earth has been cut back to the grey insulation i can see the red is live feed and when the thermostat clicks on the red and yellow are live so the yellow must be the feed to the boiler the blue i assume is neutral the terminal numbers on my old honeywell are 1 red 3 yellow 4 blue this is in a straight line from one end is this the correct connection to this newer honeywell

Hello, if your old thermostat is 1,3,4 you just connect the wires to this in the same way 1,3,4. This can also be connected 1,2,4 for systems with higher amperage (it explains it in the literature). But for you just ignore the '2'.

What is the third wire for

Asked by: Bellaboosh
If a thermostat had just 2 wires, (live in and live out) and you set it to say 20C, it would let the temperature of the room rise to about 21C before switching off and then the temperature would fall to about 19C before the 'stat realised it was cold. This would give the room temperature a 'saw tooth' profile. 3-wire 'stats (with added neutral) have a little heater inside which clicks off the heating when the temperature is hardly above 20C and back on when the temperature falls marginally below 20C. A more constant temperature results.
