Rated 3 out of 5 by from a little dissapointed read some reviews and thought this product may help with a small leak we had. watched some videos on youtube to see how good it was and thought this would do... but was left a little dissapointed. Put the product on and left it for four hours - it was touch dry but does take upto 24 hours to go off properly - leak had reduced but not gone completely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best Sealant I have used Truly excellent. Flows from the gun very well and at a constant rate. It is not overly sticky, so you don't end up getting all caked in the stuff when you need to smooth it out on a visible surface. Cleans off your fingers etc. with ease and leaves no sticky residue. Initially, it seems quite pricy per tube, however, the ease of application allied with minimum clear up sells it for me. In addition, as others have commented, it doesn't seem to go "off" within the nozzle, if left for a time. So another plus factor.

Wood

I have a summer house roof of weatherboard it has lifted a little in places allowing rain in. Would this seal and waterproof if applied along the joints?
Asked by: Bugle
Thanks for your question. TheWorks may be used for sealing wooden weatherboard. Please bear in mind that theWorks has a movement accommodation of +/-20%. For higher flexibility in weather sealing applications Dow Corning 791 (+/-50%) may be used, Dow Corning 791 is a silicone and therefore it is not paintable and must be applied in dry conditions.

how quick is it to hold vertical heavy parts i.e. lead flashing between tiles

these are small pieces of lead flashing wedged between tiles but some have come loose. the bulk of the weight would be held by being wedged but ideally it needs to do an initial grab within a few mins
Asked by: patcope
Hi thanks for your question. Geocel theWorks Clear can be used as an adhesive between lead and tile. This product uses moisture in the atmosphere to cure. If the application is non-porous to non-porous atmospheric moisture contact may be limited. The speed of cure in non-porous to non-porous applications can be greatly increased if once the adhesive is applied and the substrates pushed together, they are then pulled apart for 5 minutes allowing theWorks to pick up atmospheric moisture. After 5 minutes the substrates should be pushed back together and the adhesive allowed to cure. Using this method a reasonable bond strength should be achieved after an hour. The product does have an immediate green strength and this may be sufficient to hold the lead in place without any support during the cure.
