Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great water heater Installed this water heater in the last few days, easy to install and set up for super hot water. The manufacturer stated it is not suitable for a kitchen but the one I have fitted is supplying hot water to my bathroom basin and kitchen sink, both are within 4 metres of each other. Make sure it is set up as stated in the users manual, a great piece of kit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Inlet pipe too short! I bought this unit to replace a failing more expensive one. The specs look good and the price good. Unfortunately when I cam to fit it, the inlet pipe and to some extent the outlet pipe are too short. I am using Hep2O push fittings, but it is likely to be an issue with other push fittings and even compression connectors might struggle. Once on, the fittings are almost impossible to remove as there is not enough gap between the case and the end of the fitting. The inlet pipe also has an extra screw attaching it to the unit body and this reduces the available pipe. The result is an incomplete seal and a rather large fountain! Not impressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gret bit of kit This has replaced a lower cost item which only worked for 4 months before fizzing and stopping!! The Galaxy was simple to fit and is performing well. Can deliver really hot water at low flow rate and water at great hand-wash temperature at a reasonable flow.

Would this product be suitable to feed a basin or sink in a place of work e.g office ?

Asked by: D8V1DJ8M3S
Yes. The unit is designed to provide hot water for hand washing and is capable of supplying water for up to 2 basins. The unit delivers hot water to temperatures of between 30 and 50 degrees dependent on the time of year and delivers water at between 4 and 6 litres per minute. To be clear, the unit wouldn't be suitable to provide hot water for kitchen sinks where large flow rates and high temperatures of up to 70 degrees are required.

If there's a non return valve on the meter, do we need a pressure release valve or and a expansion vessel??

Asked by: Hawkey
There is no stored water capacity in a Powerstream so expansion is not an issue. The water is heated instantaneously as it passes over the 2 heating elements in the flow coil and they are only activated when the sink tap is opened

Will this Galaxy GAP95 Powerstream unit supply hot water to a sink with a monobloc mixer tap?

The sink is in a bathroom. I've been told that the Redring Powerstream ECO unit does not work with Monobloc mixer taps.
Asked by: EnthusiasticandHandy
No, the Powerstream units will not work with a monobloc tap. The Powerstream units are designed to supply warm water to spray taps only.
