Fluke is at the top of it's game for test equipment and I am comfortable with its reliability.
Expensive yes, but can you put a price on your safety?
I have found it possible to get the occasional false reading so ensure you go along and around the cable until your happy with the reading.
Very handy for a quick confirmation of power on or off.

Should be part of everyone's tool kit, another superb product from Fluke.
May be more expensive than some cheaper brands but when you are dealing with electrics you want something reliable.
Easy to keep in your pocket and it has never let me down!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by 42D816 The Best Voltage Detection Pen
As some other reviewers, I first bought a cheap one which turned out not to work reliably, the
last thing you want when you're trying to identify if a circuit is live.
I know the Fluke name it is one of the names for
quality test gear and this is no exception. Easy to use, above all reliable, also has audible bleep as well as LED detection. Expensive compared with other pens but you get what you pay for.
To sum up a typiclal Fluke product, reliable, well made, expensive but worth the money..

Rated 2 out of 5Â by Norbee Too sensitive
Just purchased this expensive gadget and have to say it has disappointed me.
There was an electrical connection to ceiling light with 2 live and 1 neutral incoming.
( do not question why the sparky created the connection this method ) however when trying to identify which is live and which is neutral all 3! came up as live! Conclusion: if cables are too close to each other this piece of tool is unreliable to indicate who is who in the sparky game...
