I first bought another silent filler and it wasn't.
So, I got this one. My system is low pressure, so I took the restricter out.
It's quiet. It fills quickly. The mechanism is easy to adjust. It can be serviced later.
I love it when I do something right.

This product is excellent, it fills quietly, even with the flow restrictor removed I cannot hear it even in the middle of the night and it doesn't wake people up like the old ball cock.
The two problems are that you will likely need a new 1/2 inch fibre washer not supplied to go on your tap connector. Not expensive but annoying when a second trip is required for an item worth pennies.
The other problem is that of you are replacing an older system and your tap connector nut has got a bit silted up you need to put a reasonable amount of force on the shank to tighten and seal effectively. I found that the flats on the plastic shank weren't up to this force and the shank turns in the spanner.
This said they do a brass shank version that I ended up buying to replace this plastic one and it's only £3 or so more. I recommend that product over this for that reason.
The plastic shank version is fine if everything is new and excessive force is not required.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by JMDIY Much quieter than a ball valve
Fitted to the cold water tank in the loft to reduce the noise the old valve made above a bedroom. Works a treat, fills quickly and is much quieter. Although I went for the plastic thread version and have no leaks, it might be worth paying a little extra and getting the version with the brass connection. Too early to say what the long term reliability is going to be but so far so good.
