Rated 5 out of 5 by AAV Great product. In stock when other places struggling. Being push fit allows it to be removed too for rodding access if ever needed. Also allows for installation below spillover level so neater for hiding it with boxing etc. 22 May 2016

How does it fit?

When the valve is pushed in, how far down should it go? Is there a diagram which will show this? Mine seems rather tight and won't push all the way down.

Answer:
All of the rubber seal at the bottom of the air valve should push into the soil pipe which is approx 50mm. You can use silicone lubricant to assist with the install.

Use of AA valve

We live in a bungalow which has one toilet. We are knocking this thro to join with the bathroom. The waste from both the bath and basin go directly out thro the external wall along with the cistern overflow. I would like to remove the internal soil stack which has only the WC feeding into it and replace with this valve. are there any 'do's and 'dont's involved in doing this. Thanks for any advice. Graham

Hi there.

I only have one soil pipe on my property which feeds 2 toilets one upstairs and one down. I'm currently planning a rear extension and rather than venting the soil pipe through the roof I plan on venting it in the extension roof space however I have read that the pipe also has to be vented else where along the line is this correct or am I okay to use an AAV in this instance?

Thanks.

Answer:
A single AAV would be permissible in these conditions unless you are going to a cess pit, or if you are in a row of properties and none of them have an open vent.
