Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used on Soil Stack I was having issues with the normal 100mm values as not admitting enough air fast enough, hence was getting air pulling thought other traps.. ran one of these bad boys in 40mm with a 100mm to 40mm reducer to the stack. The reduction in pipe diameter created an increase in air flow thought the 40mm pipe to this value.. problem solved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect This is a perfect little AAV that fits three pipe sizes. Easy to install, well-made, and runs silently. This is my second one. One vents a washing machine, the other a sink. Both are flawless.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality valve A well designed and manufactured valve which can be fitted to any of the three pipe sizes quoted. It is made from good quality plastic which is not brittle. Air admittance appears to be good and the valve has worked well where it has been used. Time will tell as to long term reliability.

Answer:
No, the AF32 will not be suitable to vent a bathroom by itself. With a toilet on the system you will need to stick with a 110mm air admittance valve.

I have bought a Wasteflo macerator and it says, "to prevent water siphoning from the outlet pipe, an air admittance valve must be used capable of withstanding 6 psi". Is Floplast valve suitable for this purpose?

Is there any mounting orientation requirements for the AAV, i.e. can it be mounted at the end of a horizontal pipe or must it be mounted vertically?

Answer:
The FloPlast Air Admittance Valves are designed to allow the free entry of air into the sanitary pipework system without the escape of foul gasses into the building. When installed into sanitary pipework systems the FloPlast Air Admittance Valves prevent the loss of water from trap seals due to induced siphonage.

I am a little confused by these. I have seen a number of comments saying they can be fitted below the overflow level, but also seen other comments saying they should be fitted above the overflow level of the sink. Which is it? I intend to fit one in a bathroom cabinet, so it makes a big difference.

Answer:
FloPlast air valves have an A1 rating which means that they can be installed below the flood level of connecting appliances. All you need to make sure is that they are installed at least 200mm above the highest wet entry point into the soil stack.
