Rated 5 out of 5 by Fischer plaster board plugs After moving into a new build house with plasterboard walls, I bought these to fix up a bathroom cabinet and other various things that will need putting up. The cabinet is quite a heavy solid thing and was fixed with no problems whatsoever. Very impressed and would recommend them. 23 May 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Best plasterboard plugs Having tried many different wall plugs over the years I find these are definitely the best for modern properties with plasterboard walls. No loosening over time and hold items with great strength. 21 May 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect!!! I have gone through 200 of these, i use these all round the house! Living in a new build, most walls are plasterboard, and these hold everything from shelves to blinds, to radiators, and everything in-between! No problems at all. I have also used these to hold the majority of a 50" TV up on the wall, along with a heavy duty metal plug on each side, its been up for 3 months, and thankfully no sign of coming down yet! I would highly recommend these to everyone. As with other comments, use a 8mm drill bit, and hammer lightly into place. 22 Feb 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by The best for plasterboard! Having tried many fixings for modern plasterboard fitted buildings, I eventually tried these and have found them to be by far the best and my 'go to' choice from now on. Definitely, only use an 8mm drill bit (NOT 10mm!) and tap them home lightly with a hammer. I would suggest positioning the two legs at the twelve and six o'clock positions to provide the greatest 'hold' and use 4x40mm screws. Finally to tighten, your screw should seat and then pull the legs on the end of the plug to contact the back of the plasterboard. My suggestion would be try one without fitting in the wall first to get an idea on how tight you should go. You definitely don't want to see the plug twist in the wall! Follow that, and you'll have a secure plasterboard fitting for sure! 8 Feb 2016

In the information is says 4mm screws. When doing a search on this it brings almost no screws up. Can this please be made clearer as to what screws would be suitable. I.e what diameter and length screw should be used for this particular plug? Thanks.

Answer:
The LDF Plasterboard Plug takes a No 8 gauge screw or 4mm Ø screw. The length required will be the length of the plug (35mm) + the thickness of the item to be fixed. The HDF will be the same. The Drill hole for the LDF is 6mm Ø and 10mm Ø for the HDF. Regards Technical.

Answer:
Thank you for the question. The screw length of all plugs is determined by the length of the plug + thickness to be fixed + diameter of the screw. This ensures the screw will always come through the bottom of the plug. It can be longer but shouldn't be shorter
