Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some drawbacks I tried these clips instead of the usual 'Verity' clips, as they had excellent reviews but I was slightly disappointed. The sprung clips are slightly thicker than the fixed clips so that the mirror is 8 mm from the wall at the top and 6.5 mm at the bottom. A small difference, but slightly irritating. There is also a fair amount of 'give' in the sprung clips, allowing the mirror to be pulled away from the wall a further 4 mm if little fingers start playing - and this is easy because at 8 mm the gap is rather big. (This 'give' will vary depending on how extended the springs are in the finished position). Viewed from the side, the clips and their spring mechanism are too obvious for my (admittedly fussy) liking. These are not great criticisms, but I'm going back to Verity clips, which make a slightly neater job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Neat design Simple but effective springloaded clips, used on fairly large mirrors on plasterboard walls but they have held up so far. Appear to be the only option so it is good they work so well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very useful Brought these to secure some display posters around work. They are easy to fit and not only do the job they also give a nice look to finish the job off

Answer:
Thanks for your enquiry, the weight of the mirror is held by the bottom anchors and each of these will hold 7kg, so you will require 4 fixings on the bottom. The fixings at the top are there to keep the top tight to the wall and don't actually take much weight. You will need 2 sets.

Technical.

I have bought one pack of these brackets. Will the 4 brackets together safely hold an 18kg mirror in brick wall?

Its not very clear from the previous answers and the description on the packet.

Please confirm.

Answer:
Thanks for your enquiry, each bottom bracket will hold 7kg, so the total weight for one mirror set will be 14kg. The top brackets just hold the mirror into the wall. So for an 18kg mirror you will need at least 3 brackets along the bottom.

Technical.

Weight

Afternoon, would 4x fixings going back through 12mm plasterboard into 2x 18mm ply support 20 Kg of weight?

If not, can you recommend anything that would do the job please?

Answer:
Thank you for your enquiry,
I would discard the plug and screw and just fix the brackets with a 5mm Ø x 45mm wood or chipboard screw in to the ply. Make sure the countersunk part of the screw sits just below the surface of the cork ring so that it does not scratch the mirror. 2 of the brackets at the bottom will easily support 20kg and the top ones will just hold it in at the top.
