Rated 4 out of 5 by Fix to crumbling brick Used these to fix battens to old crumbling brick wall, performed very well expanding sufficient to gain solid fixings in poor medium to give overall solid structure. Used 12mm drill ( should be 10mm but didn't have one long enough) and still done the job. 25 Aug 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product Purchased these to secure some racking to a floor. East to follow instructions on box, could not have easier or quicker. 25 Jul 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Anchors Aweigh! Bought these to attach a staircase to the adjacent wall whilst snagging after a professional installation that left the stairs creaking on every step. An anchor was used under every tread and now we have no more creaks. Easy to use and value for money. Bought in store and was given excellent advice on which type and size of anchor I needed. 4 Sep 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by AVOID if you value your time I have now used about 30 or so of these to secure 25mm plywood to ceclon, and concrete block through plaster. I used a 10mm masonry drill and had SIGNIFICANT problems getting any bite of the tapered screw on the end to enable tightening to secure the anchor bolt. On average it took me about 20 mins / bolt, sometimes longer. I tried taping, preferential greasing, pinching EVERYTHING to make the thread preferentially pull the taper towards the bolt head, rather than spin with the bolt, turning endlessly. A method pulling with a claw hammer to pre-pull the taper helped, but not reliably. I only needed to secure these in shear (load across the bolt) so think of these as 10mm nails at best. WHY IS THERE NO LIP on the taper to prevent turning relative to the sleeve? RUBBISH 22 Aug 2016

I am installing a floor and I will need a number of these fixings to carry the load in shear. I would imagine they are about 300N/mm2 ?

Answer:
Thank you for your question, We assume that you are fixing into brickwork. The FSA 12/50 will give you in the region of 1.0 -1.5kN in shear per fixing per brick but it will depend on the strength of the brick and mortar.
