Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy stuff My neighbor recently told me about this and it works really well. Used it to seal round new valves and olives being put on a new radiator in my spare room and it done a first class job, no leaks whatsoever. First class.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fernox Jointing Compound Very handy stuff, had a pinhole leak somewhere around the joint were the pipe from my Willis type immersion goes into the hot water tank. Slathered a load of the Fernox around it and hey presto no more leak - that's saved me the £500 the plumber was quoting as he said the tank had to be replaced!

Use on radiator tail valves with ptfe

Hi can this be used with radiator tail valves along with PTFE? I've read that some people use both. Basically don't want to risk any leaks! Also does this harden?
Asked by: Pauljay
Hello Pauljay. This can be used on a radiator tail valve, although it might be easier to use Fernox LS-X External Leak Sealer. The Joint compound will harden, but only after several months. Hope this helps.

Whats the difference between this & the white

Whats the difference between Ferox Hawk White Jointing Compound 400g (69694) £4.29 Ferox Jointin Compound 400g (21548) £6.19 Need to seal a leak between toilet cistern & pan.
Asked by: iansconfused
Hello Ianconfused. The Main difference between Fernox Hawk White and Fernox Water Hawk is that Water Hawk (21548) can be used with potable (drinking) water, as it will not support any microbial growth, whereas Hawk White is used for non-potable water. Hope this Helps.

Why can't I use Fernox Water Hawk on Non-portable water? If it is safe and strong to use for portable water, why can't I use it for fitting radiator valves (central heating)?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello John Johnny. You can use Water Hawk with Potable and Non-Potable water. Hope this helps.
