Button locked first time I used them to tightin steel pipe. Now have to hit the button with a hammer everytime I want to release it. They bent out of shape when tighting bushes and the hand grips came loose. The teeth holding the button are wearing away very quick causing it to slip and takes time to get them to lock where you want it. Worst hand tool I've ever bought waste of time and money.

Shame they were out of stock of the larger one that I selected from the book but these are fine.
I like the fact you have to press a button to adjust the width and there are a lot of steps in the adjustment.
Stronger than they look!

I needed a FatMax Joint Pliers quickly as I was doing some plumbing. It was so easy to order over the internet and then go down the road 2 miles in Tonbridge to collect them. Result plumbing completed the same day.
Well done ScrewFix.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Chaponner Irwin's are the better bet.
Had an old pair of the Irwin Vise-Grip pliers and got a pair of these to use together and also to see if they were a better product...their not, IMO the Irwin's are much better, the Fat Max's jaws got blunt very quickly and the metal seems quite a low standard and they certainly will not last as long as the Irwin's.
