Erbauer ERB052BTE 204mm Planer Thicknesser 230V
For DIY or small scale professional work this machine is very good value. It produces an accurate, smooth finish. The machine is sturdy and quite heavy because of the build quality, remaining portable but not light enough to move when operated. The dust extraction is pretty good. Changing from one function to the other takes only a little time and effort so if used intelligently is no great hardship - certainly not at this price.

Best value for money tool EVER
i am a casual furniture maker/DIYer and this influenced the amount i was willing to spend, i wasn't expecting outstanding results for my money but boy was i blown away with this. A little setting up is required but nothing too complicated for even the most novice of people and you are ready to go. I salvaged some 70mm x 70 mm posts that were used as slithers for decking pallets and replaned them with the result being excellent with the posts completely square on all sides. I have used much heavier duty machines in the past and have to say this item stands up to them, obvoiusly the amount you plane off isnt as much as a hevier duty machine but it only takes the odd extra pass through to obtain the exact same result

Overall an excellent machine especially for the hobbyist or DIY, The results are good and accurate and everything works as expected and truly excellent value for money.
The instructions are pretty poor, it's worth noting that the dust extractor HAS to be fitted before it will work, even though it says to start it up before describing how to fit it.
Changing mode from planer to thicknesser is a bit time consuming but no real problem.
Screwfix had to replace the first machine I got, the thicknesser table was really cranky to raise and lower and would jam... Hats off to Screwfix..No problem at all with the exchange. Because of this I gave it a 3 for reliability

Good value and works
Great value at £70 off the normal price and seems to work exactly as it should, as a planer and a thicknesser. Havenât had it long enough to comment on reliability.
On the downside, Screwfix could have taken more care of it before I collected it: One of the plastic covers was cracked. Inconsequential, because you canât see it when the machine is assembled, but annoying. Itâs so heavy it was too much hassle to take it back. I havenât used the guide fence yet, but it doesnât look very substantial or accurate. Finally, the instructions are awful. I think something got lost in translation.
