Rated 5 out of 5 by from You have to bother Earthing is required to ensure the electrical safety of an installation and BS951 earth clamps are required by BS7671 which we are all required to comply with (including DIY electricians). I have used all these types of clamps and admittedly if you do not install them correctly it is possible to shear the bolts. However if you do install them correctly they should do the job and are reasonably priced. I have no problems with them and use them all the time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why Bother? I have bought several packs of these and the other type Screwfix sell, or used to at least.. The securing screw is far too easy to shear, even before the clamp is tight, and they are more fiddley to fit than others from propper electrical dealers. And they are no cheaper.

What is the difference between the EC15 arth clamp and the EC14 re clamp.

Wondering what the A-D on EC15 and A-E on the EC16 mean on the both blue earth clamps. I'm living in wet condesation house so would anyone chooise the extrenal (Blue) or intrenal (Red) earth clamps??
Asked by: rusey
The EC15 is blue and classified as terminal size A-D 2.5 - 10mm2, Max earth conductor 1 x 10mm2. Whereas the EC16 is green and classified as terminal size A-E 2.5 -16mm2, Max earth conductor 2 x 10mm2. Both BLUE and GREEN clamps are for corrosive or humid conditions. For your reference EC14 is red and classified as terminal size A-D 2.5 - 10mm2, Max earth conductor 1 x 10mm2, suitable for non corrosive dry atmosphere.
