Rated 5 out of 5 by from pricey but worth it. Compared to other trv's a bit pricey however they feel & operate like a quality product. The chrome is well polished & the coloured display gives it a good finish.

Answer:
The Key is only required if you want to set up the flow rate through the TRV and not the lockshield or to change the gland seal if required.

upside down fitting

Hi

I have pipework coming down from the ceiling so it would be most compact to fit the lockshield or thermostatic valve upside down. Can I do this? Will it still work, and won't leak?

Thanks

Dan

Answer:
Fitting a valve upside down would have no detrimental effect on how the valve operates , however, in the unlikely event of the valve body leaking the water would enter the thermostatic head and prevent the head from working resulting in a loss of heating control.. Therefore we do NOT recommend that any valve is fitted upside down.

The head of a Drayton TRV4 can be mounted horizontally or vertically and the 15mm angled valve can be fitted to either the flow or return of the radiator.

Answer:
The TRV4 is not a valve but a thermostatic head.
It differs from other Drayton heads as it is liquid filled and offers the ultimate in accuracy and responsiveness. The RT212 head in comparison is a lower cost wax filled sensor head.
Both of these heads fit onto the Drayton straight or angled valves.
