Rated 5 out of 5 by from Time for winter As usual at this time of year (February) there always appears to be an increase in heating and hot water control problems. It is the time of year when you need it the most and the time when it always fails. I purchased this timer as a replacement for a customer as theirs had failed. The change-over was a piece of cake, took less than 15 minutes. Even the clock was set to the right time and date, The pre-set programmes suited the home owner so no changes need there. It did look as if it would be simple to adjust if required. The whole job was done in less than 2.5 hrs including diagnosing the problem, driving to Screwfix and fitting the replacement.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed It worked for few days than packed in, didn't realise it was fault and called boiler engineer only to discover faulty programmer. With boiler engineers call out charge ended up being expensive exercise. Screwfix refunded promptly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install I purchased the LP112 to replace a faulty programmer which was discontinued. I have basic electric experience and found it quite easy to install using the diagram provided with the instructions. The user interface is also very easy to operate and set. I would definitely recommend it.

Will this be a straight swap with the potterton ep2000

Asked by: Cind1982
This can be swapped with the Potterton EP 2000. The backplate will need to be changed as there is a link on the existing backplate that is not required when fitting the LP 112 programmer. Link L-5 should be removed as these are NOT required when using the LP 112 backplate.

is this programer volt free?

Asked by: panto
The LP112 is a twin channel programmer and so is not volt free.It will control both heating and hot water. Single channel timers are volt free and will control either heating or hot water but not both.

The Honeywell ST9400S is a twin channel programmer with service reminder functionality. It can be replaced with the LP112, 241, 522 or 722 if the service function is NOT required, or it can be replaced with the LP241Si, LP522Si orLP722Si should the service function be required.

Can I replace an old Towerchron with this Drayton

My Apollo boiler with a Towerchron controller has stopped working. Can I use this to replace it with?
Asked by: PeterGMac
The LP 112 can be used to replace the old Towerchron. If the Towerchron is fitted internally to the boiler it will need to be removed and the LP programmer can then be connected to the boiler. The LP programmer is an external programmer and will not fit into the boiler itself.

Johnson & Starley MK 3 Ducted Air CH

Will this replace a mechanical CH timer that has developed a very noisy tick.
Asked by: jb144
The word timer is often used to describe any product with a clock. However there are some clear differences. A timer only has a single channel whereas a programmer has twin channels. If you existing control deals with either heating or hot water but not both then an LP711 would be a suitable replacement. If your existing control deals with with both heating and hot water then the LP112 can be used.
