Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice chunky unit ! Solid weighty angle grinder. Good but of kit for the money ! 14 Sep 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice piece of kit, I bought this to cut paving slabs on my patio. I reviewed this and the other DeWalt 230 volt angle grinder. This was about £12/13 dearer but the other one said no discs were included. I thought it was worth the extra for the discs. Don't be fooled. Despite this comment, despite the picture on the website, there's no discs with this grinder either. Had to make another trip to get some so wasn't particularly happy. It did the job so although only used this once, I am happy enough with the performance. 1 Sep 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great piece of kit used this to cut through some old concrete/metal fence posts in the garden. Worked a treat with very little effort at all. Just a shame that it doesn't come with a bag/case for storage. 1 Sep 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Poor reliability Good points are that it is comfortable to use, powerful and gives clean cuts. I use angle grinders on a daily basis for around 3-4 hours, I cut steel up to 1/2" thick, then de bur and polish. I also use it for shaping wood and large stock removal. I work them hard and this just died after 6 months. Back to dewalt for repair and a loss of 7 days working. Touted as a 'heavy duty trade' tool this certainly does not live up to the hype. Bosch pro lasted 12 months! I'd never use a Dewalt again, just a jumped up B&D. I had to buy another so I plumped for Makita! Never even got to use that, the switch fell off before I used it....just going to get a Metabo. 22 Jun 2015

Having only used it a few times (cutting some 15mm copper pipework), I've noticed that the grinder has got very warm.

Is this normal ?

... as I don't recall previous grinders get so warm after only so little work.

I am considering returning it as being faulty but thought I'd ask you good folks for your thoughts first.

Answer:
Hi there, This is a potential fault with the tool as it shouldn't get that hot that quickly, but then there are plenty of factors that could cause this, what disc are you using, and the angle you are cutting, or even where you are holding the grinder could be a factor.
If you live near a repair agent then you can pop in and get them to inspect the tools to find out if there is a fault or depending on the when you bought the grinder you could potentially get your local Screwfix store to send it back to us to inspect the grinder as long as it is within the 1st year warranty?

If you use this link and input your post code it will bring up a list of your local service agents.
