Rated 5 out of 5 by NO NONSENSE SPRING COMPRESSORS I used these with confidence as they have large twin jaws that really hook around the spring coils. Absolutely no indication they would slip at any point, they really grip. They are quite short compared to some spring compressors and this can be a great advantage when removing springs without an internal shocker straight from the chassis. Some say you don't need these for this type of job, I disagree! I tried levering the hub assembly on reassembly but the new spring was just too strong and was lifting the car. Spring compressor was used to compress the spring, which made for an easy job. The threaded bolt is described as 15/16 inch on the box, it is not! that's too big. It's actually 21mm. That aside I can't fault them. 10 Apr 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quality compression clamps Non slip jaws made the decision for me. Had inferior quality before and boy do you feel it when the clamp jumps off. Don't know when I'll use them again but I'm sure I will 22 Mar 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by spring compressor too short for berlingo springs won't hold enough coils. think they were designed for older type springs with more coils and less pitch. my star ratings are because I had to. 21 Mar 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent Value Was a bit sceptical about how strong these would be, given the price. Was pleasantly surprised tho at how strong and sturdy they are. Saved a fortune on garage bill 17 Feb 2016

Answer:
Hello, motorcycle shocks have a more compact coil than a car shock and thus these spring compressors are not suited for motorcycle coils. A specialist motorcycle coil spring compressor should be used. Regards, Hilka Tools

Hi there, thanks for your query. Realistically the spring compressor can open to 24cm, it could potentially push to 25cm but this would mean the end hook would be only partially threaded on, so this is not recommended. Kind Regards, Hilka Tools
