Rated 5 out of 5 by Handy tub that can be split up I bought this for some patching up I had to do in some brickwork. The tub is a good size and can be opened and closed with ease so with the aid of another bucket I only had to mix up what I needed. That way no waste. All in all a handy product for the DIYer who doesn't need that much mortar. Good price as well compared to other stores. Would be an expensive way to lay a brick wall!! 17 May 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Top product Does exactly what it says on the tin. Holds well - used on a few walls to patch large holes and also to put bricks back in to level internal walls. Held perfectly and and went on smoothly 2 May 2016

Thank you for your recent enquiry into our product.
Unfortunately I have to advise that our General Purpose Mortar is not designed to be used with any mortar guns. The mortar is designed to be trowel applied.
I trust this helps.

Answer:
The Cementone General Purpose Mortar Grey 5 kg in general can be used in a floor application as long as it is only subject to foot traffic and the floor is not subject to movement when in service. The minimum application thickness is 5 mm and in general it will bond to slate and other sound cement based material.

I've built a base for my shower out of ply and now need to fix the tray to it. The instructions say to use mortar. Is this product suitable? I've been told the mix needs to be "dry pack".

Answer:
Thank you for your enquiry relating to our product Cementone General Purpose Mortar.
We would recommend you wait at least 2 days before over painting this product.
The surface needs to be dry and we would recommend the use of a water based paint that is water permeable. If you use a different type of paint you need to ensure the mortar is completely dry not just surface dry and this will take a lot longer and will depend on ambient conditions and thickness of the mortar.
We suggest you speak with the paint manufacturer concerning the use of a suitable primer.
I hope this information helps.
