I bought this set just a week ago so far I've found two of the stubby bits are blunt and could only just cut through a pound of butter let alone stand a chance facing a joist.
I should really check the rest but haven't got the time to stop the job and go running around to get replacements so I'm making do with what I have.
If you're after cheap and cheerful then they're a fair price, if you're collecting then check them before heading out the door otherwise your likely in for a return trip soon.

Clearly an issue here. The bits I purchased
had a cutting geometry that is totally wrong. Mine
seem to have been designed to rub and polish the wood rather than cut.
Best avoid or at least check on purchase that the cutting edge can actually cut.
To be returned on next screwfix visit.

I bought these partly to fit door locks. The cut of the bits us very coarse in that they attempt to cut very fast. My door was oak and the coarse cut made drilling oak impossible, they try and remove too much too fast. I tried them on softwood and they cut nicely but again too fast, they rip the wood. These are fine for structural timber and coarse work but don't expect nice tidy holes or holes in any hardwood.

I bought this set and used the stubby 16mm bit and could not believe how utterly useless it was. I tried several cuts in soft and hardwood, with no penetration possible beyond the short screw.
Reading other reviews I suspect there are some faulty batches as the reviews are either like mine here or get five stars.
Screwfix gave me a refund without fuss, but I have wasted my time and costs returning these. I hope that QA at Screwfix might investigate to identify faulty batches.
