Rated 4 out of 5 by Does the job Was a little sceptical but this did the job! Very thick to paint with, but i suppose you could thin it down a little if needed. 15 Jul 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Magic! Bought this product after reading other reviews and have used it today. It really does work! It covered bad water stains from storm damage instantly and I was so glad other Reviewers had highly recommended it. Very small price to pay for something so efficient. 7 Jul 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best there is!!! All decorators should have a tin of cover stain in the van. It does everything, Covers unsightly water stains, seals problem areas and provides great adhesion for all top coats inside and out. Always have some on me..... always get it from Screwfix. 14 Jun 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Zinseer Cover Stain I found this to be an excellent product. To quote another product maker ' It does exactly what it says on the tin'. Heavily stained ceiling due to water leak from radiator. Painted with one coat of this product, completely covered it. 15 May 2016

I have painted a brick chimney breast white (2 coats of acrylic primer/undercoat and 2 coats of white emulsion so far) however after each coat the paint starts to go yellow very quickly (within 30 mins). Will this product stop the staining?

Answer:
The staining is most likely due to soot, our best recommendations to block this are to use the Zinsser B-I-N Shellac
Based Primer (29661) , This can then be over coated after a minimum of 45 mins with your white emulsion. It is best to paint the whole area up to a natural break, rather than just the stains, otherwise you may see ghosting of the primer through your decorative finish.

I'm sorry, without knowing underlying cause of the flaking plaster, we cannot recommend the Zinsser Cover Stain primer, or any of our products for this type of application.

I live in a flat with black mould. I keep windows open and its now under control. I hardly see it anymore. There are black spots on walls and skirting which come through any new paint. Will this help?.

Will this product cover "greasy" looking marks coming through emulsion paint which have been caused I think by painting emulsion over a sealant or caulking. If not do you have a product which would solve this problem.

Answer:
Zinsser Cover Stain is an excellent primer for sealing grease stains on surfaces, however we do not recommend it, or any of our other primers, for application over silicone based sealant or caulking. Unfortunately, we cannot off you our full recommendation that this product will seal this type of grease stain due to the uncertainty of its nature.
