Vitrex PRO 800 800W Tile Bench Saw 240V
for the price excellent
If you were a professional using it every day it would get worn out quickly. Most of the machine is heavy duty but some parts like bearings on the blade slider are poor though.
Biggest problem is the mess it makes by launching water behind the machine. it really must be used outside and you need a hose to clean up afterwards. Obviously machine is fairly large so needs plenty of space for use and storage.
When the blade gets worn out you get poor cuts and jamming. new blades are 1. expensive and 2. hard to find as it uses an odd size spindle for the 200mm blade. this means you have to buy the vitrex ones as they are the only ones that fit it.
Careful positioning of the water pump is essential to get enough flow and the hose position is important too. Instructions are about as much use as a chocolate fire guard about this.
Similarly useless is the plastic 45 degree guide. this is flimsy and doesnt fit properly into the guide rail. It also moves about left and right once fitted. better results are achieved by drawing a line on the tile and lining it up by eye.
Overall its a very good DIY machine for the price. The price for a professional one of these machines is many times more.

Great for big tiles.......but
Easy to use tile cutter, powerful enough. My only gripe is, WHERE CAN YOU BUY REPLACEMENT BLADES?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Seriously, Screwfix don't sell them, the Vitrex site doesn't even advertise the Tile Saw Bench, never mind a replacement blade!
Can anyone help?????????

good for the money
in my opinion this is a great entry level saw to get you into the buisness!! it will cut tiles upto a very respectable 720 mm get yourself a good blade fitted on it and there will be no stopping you!! great value for money in my opinion considering next step up is the rubi bridge saw which is priced at ££££££££££££££ alot more

Could do better for the money
Big old tile cutting machine which really needs 2 people to shift around because it's so awkward.
Not very well put together - poor build quality but robust. If you can bear a smaller machine it get the Titan version however it can only cut tiles up to 450mm ish in length - went for the Vitrex because it can cut longer lengths of tile. The Titan is a much better build quality.
Cuts through thick tiles like butter.
Just make sure you have the time to fiddle and adjust everything to make it work like a dream. Instructions are very poor.
