Fitted a 27" titanium immersion element and it lasted 15 months. The cost is not the issue but the risk of damaging the tank if your constantly changing them.
I ve spent a bit extra elsewhere for a branded unit and will see how that goes.

Great product. The old unit was tough to get off. Watched a couple of clips on you tube, use the correct tool and a couple of firm hits with a block hammer. Use plumbers silicone on the seal -not to be confused with general purpose silicone. Used the titanian because we live in a hard water area works a treat.

I will always use this titanium version even though it is more costly but in the end it's worth the extra cost especially fitting in hard water areas.

First one installed 16.10.2014.
Failed and replaced 18.11.2014.
Second one failed 19.6.2015.
Third one now installed untill a better product is sourced.
Yes it is in a hard water area but the frequency of breakdown should not be this high and will contact the manufacturer. I can only say that Screwfix returns and exchange policy is brilliant.
