Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dirty water pump I needed a dirty water pump to remove a lot of water from building foundations which had a tendency to become 'little Venice' after a rain shower. This pump does a brilliant job. Where the float switch doesn't sit high enough to activate the pump it is a simple task to activate manually. Recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value pump I bought this to empty a disused septic tank which had half-refilled with ground water. Took about an hour to pump out what I estimate was about 3000 litres (about 50 litres per minute) but the lay flat hose I used tended to kink and restrict the flow. The 150 litres per minute is probably the best the pump could ever do with no outlet hose or needing to pump from below ground level. As the pump has a float switch the flow rate isn't a big problem - you just leave it until it switches off. The only criticism I have is that the outlet connector aligned vertically downwards when tightened up ! I used some 45mm O.D. flat rubber plumbing washers to pack the base of the female thread so that the adaptor clamped on the washers and pointed upwards.

Can this pump be used for moving waste water held in a tank from a sink unit in a basement with a head of 2 metres. The pump would be left in the waste water tank all the time.

Asked by: Cultra
Hello Cultra, max head is 6m so dont see why this wouldn't be a problem thank you for using Q and A.JB

start stop height

Hi Please can you confirm what the automated start and stop heights are for this pump.
Asked by: JB70
Hi JB70, To have an automatic start, the pump must be submerged in a water reservoir with a minimum water level of 60cm. The water pump must not be submerged in water deeper than 6m. Thank you for using Q&A. JBT

Pumping from garden pond

Hi Would this pump be suitable for pumping water from a natural pond to a hose and water sprinkler? Thanks
Asked by: MrDuracell
I doubt if the pump would provide enough pressure to operate a sprinkler, but would be ok to use just with a hose.

Does this pump have enough back pressure for use in a garden irrigation system (Hozelock small bore pipes)?

Asked by: EADSD
Hello EADSD, The pump has enough pressure to push water up a max of 6 metres. It hasn't been designed or tested for use in an irrigation system, so I can't comment on it's performance for that specific task. Consider that small bore pipes may add extra strain on the motor. Thanks for using Q&A, KC
