Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great piece of kit Cuts easy, accurate with plenty of power and at a good price - cheapest I have found. Highly recommend

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Superb value Bought this to replace my 30 year old Makita, which dear son has somehow bent and wouldn't cut straight any more. With heavy workshop doors to cut down I needed a decent saw and by gum I got one. Being semi-retired I couldn't justify another Makita, but read the spec and reviews and tried the Titan as the other tools I own of the same brand have all been faithful servants. The thick aluminium soleplate is good and sturdy and the whole saw very rigid. The soft start is great and without it the 2hp motor would kick like a mule on startup. Angle adjustment is very positive and depth adjustment very quick and again solid in use. Waste blows out sideways and is very effective. It's the first time I've used a laser on a circular (just to try it as I always use a guide board for long cuts) and the alignment was perfect. No batteries either, so you can't get caught with no charge. Titanium blade guard works very smoothly and doesn't pull the saw off line when starting a cut. Even the supplied blade cuts as clean as you like, but I would recommend a finer toothed one for crosscutting or manmade boards. All in all I can't fault this saw and I'd rate it a superb buy at an amazing price. Only time will tell as far as reliability goes, but it's worked hard for me so far. Well done Titan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent piece of kit. Never used a circular saw before and approached with a certain amount of trepidation. Was incredibly surprised at just how easy it was to use. Laser would have been more useful if I'd have been indoors, bright sunlight made it hard to see but not the tools fault. Soft start a god send and allowed me to make sure everything was lined up correctly first. Base plate a bit flimsy but not a huge problem considering the price paid for the saw. Overall a superb buy with some brilliant features, will recommend to anyone looking to purchase a circular saw. Can't really comment on reliability as only had a short while but has the feel of a sturdy tool.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from You gets what you pays for... I did a good bit of research before purchasing a circular saw, and my judgement was swayed by the addition of the laser guide on the Titan saw. On the first cut, it became readily apparent that the laser was about 7mm out of alignment, with no way to adjust / calibrate it. Such a pity, as otherwise this would have been a very acceptable product. I returned the saw to ScrewFix without any issues.

why is the cut 5mm to the right of the line?

When I finished the cut it was 5 mm to the right of the line that I had drawn. Is the blade missing a spacer or have I missed something here?

Another blade question

Struggling to find fine cut blade one Screwfix site. Need something to cut laminate kitchen top and engineered wood floor. in previous answers you suggest 68948, but this is cross cut blade. What fine tooth blades do you suggest for this machine please?
Asked by: Bob2016
Hi Bob2016, The Titan TCT Circular Saw Blade 40T 190 x 16/20/30mm (68948) has 40 teeth and is suitable for ripping and cross-cuts. Unfortunately we do not sell a finer blade with more teeth. Thank you for using Q&A. PB

What type of blade to buy for aTitan TTB 286 CSW 1500w Circular Saw.

Can I buy a blade to cut paving stones and metal piping for the Titan? If so which model/make/size do you advise? If the Titan can only cut wood would you advise me buying the Evolution Rage 1B1852 Multi purpose saw? Thanks very much.
Asked by: PixPne
Hello PixPne, This Saw accepts blades of 190mm in diameter with a 16mm Bore. If you were to search 'Titan TCT Circular Saw Blade 190' into the Screwfix Search bar, it will bring up the compatible blades. However those blades are only suitable for use on wood. Thank you for using Q&A. (LM).
