I bought this to replace a letter plate whose spring had failed.
The quoted sizes seemed fine for the purpose and apart from having to use a couple of file strokes on the door it looked as if it would fit without a problem.
However what the specification doesn't say is that the interlocking sleeves allow for door panel thicknesses from 37 mm to a massive 80mm. Unfortunately my door is 27mm thick so to make this fit I will either need to make up a 10mm internal gasket or cut down the sleeves on both inner and outer plates. The threaded stand-off will also need to be cut down, provided there is still enough thread left.

This item is good value for money and quality is good, only left 3 stars for reliability because I've only just fit it. Can't see there being any problems.

Good quality feel to it, nice and solid - fitting was a swine but that was more down to the shape and size of my original letterbox.

Well built letter plate. Slightly bigger than my original so I had to increase the size of the aperture. Nice thing about it is that the letter plate has a central screw hole and a screw post which makes it easier to align. There are also 4 other screw holes so that you can alter the fastenings accordingly if the centre screw hole doesn't match.
If you have to increase the size of the aperture can I suggest that you use a power file/thin belt sander.
