Rawlplug Uno Wall Plug Red 3.5-5mm Pack of 300
Tried and tested
Good firm hold every time, just as long as you can get a reasonably neat hole ad the drill bit doesnt just find a gapeing void in the stone work behind the plaster.

quality and value
I have tried many fixing plugs and for value, quality and design these are very good.

Worth the extra
I install security systems, not the usual DIY wireless tat (as available on this site!) and some of the units can be quite weighty especially metal end stations with 17aH batteries. I wouldn't use anything else than these plugs, the bonus being that they are a genuine alternative to metal drivas in plasterboard - especially for PIRs where the yellow plugs are far more suitable for the usual No. 6 woodscrews than your typical plasterboard driver product.
These are far more expensive than normal plugs, and yet, at 2p per plug, on the typical system that's only about a 30-40p spend on rawlplugs and means getting the job done right first time round. Priceless.

Better than standard plugs
Being slightly shorter and with a flanged head these are ideal where depth is an issue. These are also very useful in hollow blocks as the flange head prevents the plug from pushing through the hole. Where ever I have an issue with the standard straight plug I use the Uno's, they have never let me down.
