I bought two of these clamps to help line up joints in a cupboard I am making. Everything about these clamps is good quality except (as other reviewers have noted) the handle, which is made from a plastic material formed directly onto the end of the threaded rod. However, you do not need to pull the clamp very tight in order for it to do the job, so if you are careful and don't tighten excessively the handle will probably last.

There are many ways to fail to get good results with mitre clamps in all price brackets.
This one is a budget model, but I'm getting decent results when using them. The casting is square and this clamp will hold the work square if it's set up carefully.
Best results come from using these four at a time and joining all four corners simultaneously.
If using two or one at a time you need to be sure the work piece ends not in the clamp(s) are supported at exactly the same height as the ends in the clamp and that you check the joint is square as you tighten it. Fail to do this and the result can be a squiffy joint. But that's true of many mitre clamps including the considerably pricier Stanley ones I also have.
Using one clamp on it's own can work, but it's easy to get a fractional error in each joint and find the the wood doesn't meet up when you get to the last joint.
The four of these I have are several years old, have been used on a good number of occasions but not constantly. They are hung up out of harms way when not in use and not overtightened. So far nothing has broken on any of them.
For the price, used appropriately, I find these a useful piece of kit.

Great at doing the job it was designed for. Only downside was the two grub screws on the small metal plate on the top were both loose and would not tighten. Luckily I have assorted screws that I was able to replace them with.
