Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems to be very good. Have just painted the second coat of Frigate grey floor paint on to my new garage floor. It rollers on my garage floor very well. Use in WELL ventilated areas as the smell the next day is quite strong. Stir very well before using otherwise you get (as mentioned in other reviews) a blue-ish separation. Even diluting this paint for the 1st coat on a new single garage floor I have used approximately 4 to 4 1/2 litres for 2 coats and will need to buy a 2.5 litre tin to make sure I have enough finish the 3rd coat. I have had to give 1 star for durability and performance as I have just painted the floor and due to being a new house not yet moved into the floor has had no traffic or use on It yet. Will amend / write a new review after a few months.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exelent Did a great job on my workshop floor. just one thing though, it should have had a warning notice on the tin that you should make sure the cat flap on the door is locked,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Used on slate kitchen floor tiles Covered well a few layers. It took days to dry fully Very solid finish sand be sanded if imperfections Just used a roller After six months I took the floor up smashed and hammers cracked yet the paint does not come off the tiles wow just goes to show how hard wearing a durable it is I literally hammered the tiles for testing purpose and not a mark The grey looks good and finish is good

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good! Used this on a bare concrete garage floor that had never been painted. Made sure the concrete was dry, dust and dirt free. I just launched it on as is (stirred it beforehand of course). Have used a whole 5 ltr tin covering only half the garage... don't really want to do a second coat as it starts to mount up money wise. I think it will take at least 2 days to dry enough to walk on. Overall easy to use and looks good.

Can I use a different colour for the final coat?

I purchased Frigate but it is a bit lighter than I imagined so would prefer slate. Can I put down a second coat of Frigate followed by a final coat of slate? Doing it this way would allow me to use up my pot of Frigate and just buy a smaller pot of slate.
Asked by: purplewarrior
Hello purplewarrior. Yes this will be fine. However please note that additional coats of slate may still be required, depending on the extent of the colour change from frigate to slate. Thanks

I have a chipboard floor in my workshop and I need to know how best to apply leyland grey paint

Asked by: Susan64
Hello Susan64. to apply this product onto chipboard simply thin the 1st coat with 5% white spirit. Once dry apply 2 full coats. Ensure the floor is clean and dust free prior to painting. Thanks

Can this be used directly onto a terrazzo floor or does it need primed?

Asked by: Speight
Hello Speight. Unfortunately the Leyland Trade Heavy Duty Floor Paint is unsuitable for application onto terrazzo, even with the use of the primer. This substrate doesn't have the absorbency that our paint requires. Thanks
