Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissapointed Given the reviews thought this would be fine for garage floor. Degreased floor, 2 coats applied, then a week later put car in garage only to find paint came off back to concrete beneath where tyres had been.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Comes off easily After careful consideration, I purchased 3 tins to paint the garage floor. I prepped my floor first with a PVA sealer, following the instructions for a concrete floor. Goes on well with a roller, albeit a little thick if your not careful and therefore takes significantly longer to dry and looks great once finished.... but then... this paint doesn't adhere to the floor at all well. No problem walking on it but use steps or drop something at your peril because this comes straight off, scratching and peeling. Maybe it's not suitable for use with PVA? I don't know why it's so soft, but unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great paint This paint did the job! Good coverage, 1x 5 ltr tin was more than enough for a single garage. It says touch dry in 3 hours, but was still tacky after 6, which could have been down to the fact I kept the garage door closed after painting the floor to keep the cats out. First coat done with a brush to ensure I got all the bumps and holes in the concrete floor, second with a roller which was much quicker as I didn't have to worry about the holes.

Our garage floor has been finished with a self levelling compound. Will this paint be suitable ?

Asked by: Miller123
Hello Miller123. I recommend checking with the manufacturer of the self leveling compound regarding the suitability of overpainting, as some self leveling compounds cannot be over painted. Thanks

how should I clean a concrete floor before applying Leyland hardwaring floor paint

Asked by: eyesright
Hello eyesright. To prepare a concrete floor the floor must be dust free, a vacuum would be best to achieve this. the surface should then be thoroughly cleaned and degreased, using an appropriate cleaning agent. Finally the surface should be washed with clean water, to remove any traces of the cleaning agent. Thanks

Can I use this on a concrete floor that has been sealed with a silicate sealer?

Asked by: Runforestrun
Hello Runforestrun. The Leyland Trade Heavy Duty Floor Paint cannot be applied over any sort of sealant. For new surface the paint should be thinned with 5% white spirit and applied directly to the surface. Thanks

95% garage floor & 5% open to weather

Planning to use this for our garage floor, however the garage door is recessed 12 inches and therefore there would be a small surface exposed to the weather. Is this an issue if I put 2-3 coats down?
Asked by: SRW1970
Hello SRW1970. I cannot say whether this would be an issue or not. if the damp proof course (which I assume the floor has) runs to the external part of the floor then this in theory will protect the area from underlying moisture. However the risk is from moisture potentially penetrating at ground level in the area immediately surrounding the exposed flooring. We would always recommend 3 coats on unpainted surfaces as this offers maximum durability. I hope this helps, thanks
