Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the job Bought to do entire house, used as a miscoat first, then 1 top coat so far. Covers really well, can't go wrong at this price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best whote emultion I read other reviews and there was a mixed opinion about this paint. I decided to try it and I am glad I did. Coats well and very little if no smell at all. As long as you prepare the walls properly I had no bad experiences and compared to other big brand names, this is a bargain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Leyland Trade Contract Paint I've used many other paints, but find that this is far superior quality and gives an excellent finish. It has more body than most other paints of a similar nature, at a more reasonable price. Not quite as good as it used to be though, as two coats are usually required now, where one would have given sufficient cover previously.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top quality paint I've used many other paints, but find that this is far superior quality and gives an excellent finish. I painted a ceiling that had previously been painted in a white gloss paint, at first I thought I'd need to go over in at least 2 coats, but only one coat was enough. Saved me time and saved the customer time! Job done!

Hello Guestie

This paint has fantastic Opacity - hiding power, but to be honest you may need Three coats to get a solid finish. I think this would be the same with most paints.

Good luck!

Answer:
Hello banshee09. Contract paints are designed primarily for new plaster which has not yet fully dried - it is a highly breathable product so allows to plaster to continuously dry. I would suggest for your 1st coat to thin this down with up to 10% clean water. Once dry apply 2 full coats. However please note, because of the high levels of breathability this product is not durable, it will mark and scuff easily. As an alternate option you can wait until the plaster has fully dried, then thin the 1st coat down of your desired topcoat (for example the Leyland Trade Vinyl Matt which is known as being 'wipeable'). Thanks

Hello. the Leyland Trade Contract Matt is a highly breatheable product. primarily for new work, this could be used in an area such as a bathroom ceiling. However, due to the quick drying and absorbency of this paint, it is often difficult to achieve a uniform finish. I would suggest the use of a Vinyl Matt instead. Thanks

Hello Animatrix. Yes this will be fine to use on a ceiling. However I would avoid using it as a final coat for your walls, and it is not designed to be a durable product. Thanks
