Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really poor coverage I bought this as a friend recommended it and I like the idea of cleaning brushes in water. Big mistake - how other reviewers claim to get by with one coat astounds me - two coats (over acrylic primer/undercoat) was barely acceptable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good stuff! A quality item, I find it stays tacky for a few days and knots bleed through new wood easier than with oil based paints.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mediocre at best This product does not apply smoothly. If you are only an occasional user you will find the tin lid completely inadequate for its purpose going rusty immediately and accumulating crud that drops back into the paint on opening it. After having it for 4 weeks I have just consigned 2/3 of a tin to the tip for disposal. Rather go for a quality product in an easy seal tub that will keep longer.

Answer:
Hello Gooksy. Yes this will be fine. Just ensure you thin the 1st coat with up to 10% clean water to quench surface absorbency. Once dry apply 2 full coats. Thanks

Answer:
Hello Andytom. I would suggest using the Leyland Trade Acrylic Primer Undercoat prior to over coating with the Acrylic Eggshell. The primer will quench surface absorbency, and provide what is known as a 'key' - essentially something for the Acrylic Eggshell to stick to. Thanks

Answer:
Hello. The Leyland Trade Acrylic Eggshell Emulsion is a highly durable product and is rated as 'scrubbable'. it is ideal in kitchens, bathrooms, and areas where more durability is required - for example a hallway. A 7 day curing period will be required after application of this product, essentially this means the time it takes for the product to achieve full durability. once fully cured you can vigorously clean the surface without affecting the appearance of the coating. Thanks

The tin I have seems to be very thick and therefore doesn't always give a smooth finish to woodwork. So wondered if you could thin it down?

Answer:
Hello Sread. In comparison to a standard Vinyl emulsion Acrylic paints have a considerably lower water content, which is why your paint appears thicker than what you would expect. It is fine to thin these paints down, you would use clean water as it's thinner. However avoid over thinning the product as it will affect the overall opacity - I would advise no more than 10%. Thanks

Hello. I wouldn't recommend the use of this product externally, as it is not formulated to act as such. Thanks
