Rated 5 out of 5 by Chuffed Great product, very similar quality to products with a much higher price point. Good coverage and easy to apply,, beats gloss every time! 2 Apr 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Quality product I purchased on recommendation to decorate an old cottage that has had some water damage because of all the rain, I used the appropriate stain & damp block and then used the Eggshell, the paint went on so easily, the coverage was brilliant and the end result was truly excellent, the only downside or me was the pungent smell and the exceptionally long drying time as i have no patience, I have just purchased 2 more cans to use in my family home and office so I must be pleased if you can stand the smell and the wait i would definitely recommend this product it is far better than any I have used in the past. , 22 Feb 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Value Paint Used this on all the paintwork in my hall, landing and stairs. Great finish, very smooth and goes a long way. Thoroughly recommend this product 23 Jan 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent for stair parts I bought this for the woodwork of my stairs. While painting 76 primed spindles I didn't think it was going that well. However upon examination after a couple hours drying I found I had a uniform finish, few brush marks, and a soft sheen. To top it off I've got away with a single coat even though the primer was cream. This will now be my default choice for internal woodwork. Being water-based is a huge advantage, and the quality of finish is difficult to equal. 13 Dec 2015

Hello. I wouldn't recommend the use of this product externally, as it is not formulated to act as such. Thanks

I would like to use this for both interior walls and some wooden furniture using a fine spray system - I would expect that it would need to be diluted a little but I want a relatively hard wearing finish - would the Acrylic eggshell be suitable?

Answer:
hello. The Leyland Trade Acrylic Eggshell is a highly durable coating and carries a 'scrubbable rating'. recommend for kitchens, bathrooms and areas of high traffic, this paint is ideal for areas where higher durability is required. it can also be applied to suitably primed woodwork - I would recommend the use of the Leyland Trade Acrylic Primer Undercoat. However this product is only formulated for interior use, so I would not recommend this product if the furniture you are painting is for exterior use. thanks

Hi, I plan to paint my internal doors and skirting boards with a brilliant white eggshell paint.

Please could you tell me what is the difference between 'Leyland Trade Acrylic Eggshell Emulsion Paint Brilliant White' and 'Leyland Trade Eggshell Paint Brilliant White' ?

Which would you recommend for the job?

Answer:
Hello. Leyland Trade Acrylic Eggshell Emulsion is a water based paint. It is formulated with an Acrylic resin, which gives the paint added durability and a 'scrubble' rating. Recommended for kitchen and bathroom walls, it can also be used on suitable prepared and primed woodwork - in this case the use of our Acrylic Primer Undercoat on woodwork will act as a sufficient base to over decorate with. Leyland Trade Eggshell is an oil based paint and is formulated for use on interior woodwork. It is a highly durable paint and will dry to a smooth, washable finish. However, as this paint is oil based, over time the product will begin to yellow. I would advise the use of the Acrylic Eggshell, as with it being water based is a non yellowing product. However application will need to be more careful with the Acrylic Eggshell, as this product is not 'self-levelling', which essentially means brush marks will be harder to remove than an oil based product. I hope this helps. Best Regards

Hello matchstickman. Yes this product is suitable for use on interior woodwork, however I would recommend the use of our acrylic primer/undercoat first. apply 2 coats of the primer/undercoat first. That will give an adequate base for over painting with the acrylic eggshell. Thanks

Would this paint work on MDF wooden signs? I use the Layland acrylic primer on my MDF signs then a coat of brilliant white craft acrylic paint. Glue my paper next then use a water based varnish over everything
Using craft acrylic paint is costing a lot, so I wondered if i could use this as it would be a lot more cost effective? Also could anyone recommend a water-based varnish?

Answer:
Hello, yes you can use our Acrylic Eggshell, unfortunately I cannot guarantee it will give you the exact same finish as your Craft Acrylic paint. If you would like more information on a water-based varnish please call Screwfix helpline on 0500 41 41 41.
