Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy install Very easy to install and wire up. Appears to seal tightly. Can't comment on weatheroofness or reliability - it needs to spend a year in the sun, wind and rain for that.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Major design fault with this There is a key design fault with this socket. Many outdoor electrical products (mowers, strimmers, X-mas lights etc) are supplied a very large moulded 3-pin plug. The seal on the socket that grips the mower/strimmer cable (intended to prevent moisture penetration) only fits around the cable itself, and cannot accommodate the mouldings on several plugs that I have tried to plug in. It does work if you leave the cover of the socket open, but this defeats the purpose of the cover. The moisture seal is far too close to the plug socket itself. It needs to be much further away, as for example in the MK socket. This socket is cheap and ok for temporary use, but is otherwise not really fit for purpose. I am replacing mine.

Answer:
It means the switches are of the rocker type, and that they are positioned at the outer side extremities of the plate (rather than between the sockets).
