Rated 4 out of 5 by This Can Tackle Most DIY Jobs Reluctantly, I actually purchased this item because I had a floor standing radiator to fit. Initially, I wanted to call out a plumber, but my regular guy is on holiday and this is only a small job. So I tried a couple of others, three in total. Being summertime many plumbers are not interested in such small jobs, the “so-called plumber” who was willing to do the job, quoted me £65 and I would have to supply all the materials, then when I pushed him on what and how he was planning to do this job, all he could tell me, was that he could do it and where were the radiator assembly instructions. It turned out he was just handy man and claimed that he would only cut and join the pipes with elbow joints, no bends that I had to supply along with the pipe – a job I could have done myself. When he then claimed that a pipe with multiple elbow joints was stronger than a single pipe, bent to fit – I knew I was dealing with a 100% genuine cowboy. In the end I bit the bullet and purchased this item just to do this one job. I also bought a length of copper pipe on which to first practice with and watched a couple of YouTube videos beforehand. But in the end this item was so easy to use and very straight forward, the secret is to take your time when bending pipe and don’t rush the job. Copper is not that expensive so you can easily practice if you are not confident. My only criticism about this bender is that it is a little difficult to attach to a workbench in my opinion, but apart from that I would certainly recommend this to the amateur, DIY users. But why would I pay a cowboy to bodge a job when I could do a better job myself with this pipe bender, given it is so easy to use? I was quoted in the range of £65 - £80 to do this job, no more than an hour’s work for a competent plumber. Another “so-called plumber” claimed he wouldn’t need a pipe bender to do my job because according to him, most plumbers now days bend pipes with their hand, as he would do. I imagine this is after he has finished feeding five thousand with five loaves and two fishes. 10 Aug 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Heavy duty pipe bender Bought this for some complex pipe bending and to avoid using too many couplings. After watching a couple of YouTube videos on how to get accurate pipe bends (use a pencil and protractor - don't rely on any marks on the bender itself). I successfully got a difficult 3D bend to start at the correct place and end at the correct place - first time! So very pleased. 8 Jul 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Use on new copper pipes only I took a chance on this having read some reviews that reported crimping and flattening of the pipes. I found that it did exactly that on older, painted copper piping but on new, shiny pipes there were no problems at all. 6 Jul 2016
