Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top product Used this to put up a mirrored wall for a customer. I needed to move one of the tiles after it had set. I can honestly say the bonding power of this stuff is incredible!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, expensive for what it is Excellent job, stuck a mirror, over 6ft on a big sheet of MDF, to make a large standing mirror. Done the job well but just find it a bit expensive for what it is

reviews say this products bonds very well. but how do you therefore remove a walled mirror if it gets cracked/smashed

re. geocel trade mate mirror fix i plan to use this is in a gym studio where occasionally weights may crack a mirror near the floor. is removing a cracked mirror bonded to the wall a problem? would a screw fastening be better?

Will this stick to bare plaster?

I have a 750 x 900 Black glass splashback to fix behind cooker. Will this stick to bare plaster or does it need sealing first?
Asked by: N11LFF
Geocel Trade Mate Mirror Fix will bond to bare plaster provided that the plaster is clean, dry, sound and fully cured.

Hi, thinking of using this to fix 1800mm x 1200mm garden mirrors (thin acrylic sheet) to fence panels and brickwork so I don't need to use screws, would it work on both surfaces please?

Asked by: ADAERVON
Thanks for your question. Trade Mate Mirror Fix could be used for this application, however there are some possible performance issues that should be highlighted. As Trade Mate Mirror Fix is really designed for interior use there is the possible issue of water affecting the bond over time as the substrates may soak up any rainwater. This is likely to reduce the lifespan of the product. Also with such large acrylic mirror sheets the amount of thermal movement will be considerable; and this will be exacerbated by the materials being in the elements. This is likely to push the movement accommodation factor of the product to its maximum and may cause the joins to fail. It should also be noted that the mirror would require supporting with some mechanical fixings whilst the product cures.

Is this suitable for fixing mirror to non pourous substrate. IE plastic / PVC wall cladding

Asked by: Markp9002
Thanks for your question. Please be aware that adhesion to polyethylene or polypropylene won't be possible. Outside of that, then as long as the substrate is clean, dry, sound and free from grease, dust and other contaminants then adhesion shouldn't be an issue. Best practice is to apply the Mirror Fix in vertical beads applied at 100 mm intervals, if in doubt a test to ensure adhesion is advisable.

Can I grout over it

Asked by: simONE17
Thanks for your question. Depending on the specifics of the application it should be possible to use grout over Trade Mate Mirror Fix. However it should be noted that as this is a silicone product there is likely to be poor adhesion to the grout. Therefore I would only recommend over grouting if the purpose is to perhaps grout between two tiles with a gap of just a few millimeters where the Mirror Fix is merely packing out the depth of the joint.
