Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product I bought this clamp recently to help hold my buffalo horn while bending it to make hiking sticks. It is ideal as a third hand when handling hot buffalo horn and has proved invaluable. It is strong enough to bend the horn and quick and easy to adjust.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not to bad, ok in fact. I bought 4 of the 24 inch clamps. I was running out of clamps when making several oak kitchen doors. Firstly the bad points. The jaws do not stay square especially the movable jaw. The location pin drops out. But I have this in more expensive ones. The tommy bar is short and of a small diameter. On the plus side. They are solid and rigid in use. The screw thread runs freely. Quick to adjust and the location pin is attached to the clamp by a wire. So when it falls out, which it will, no searching on your knees. For the price I have seen far worse.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job I needed a clamp to press 2 boards together to glue, and this did the job well.

How wide do they open

I see from the specs the clamp is 24" long. The wood I need to clamp is 23" so I suspect they are not going to be long enough. The specs don't include the maximum clamping width. Can anyone enlighten me.

Answer:
Hello enlightenme,

The extra specs we have here state the max jaw opening is 600mm, which is just over 23.6". So in theory, you could get your 23" piece of wood in the jaws. Worth a try at least!

Answer:
I purchased the clamp and when opened up fully the maximum clamping width is 590mm, so I have 6mm clearance, so it will work. will now buy a second one.
