Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solve Tricky Problems This Way I have walls where the plasterboard is fixed to battens over the brick/block-work. Tough to attach any real load in this circumstance. These "through type sleeve anchors" are ideal. Drill through plasterboard and cavity into solid brickwork, then when you offer load to wall with these in place, tightening bolt sets sleeve anchors very firmly. I have used them throughout when load is an issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth a bolt. Good quality product and easy to fit. I was fitting an over door canopy and the bolts supplied were poor quality, so tried these ones from Screwfix which made the job far easier and quite secure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fixing Done a great job in my 1998 built house. Plenty of dot and dab plaster board on the external walls so hanging a fire place and TV bracket is annoying. With these fixings the job was a breeze and the brackets hold hard without damaging the plasterboard. Will use these in the boys bedrooms to fix wall units.

What is the extra small round metal and red piece used for?

Asked by: thedd
Thanks for your enquiry. This is a through type anchor and must not dismantled, you will need a 12mm clearance hole in your plate and you drill through it with a 10mm Ø drill, deep enough to prevent the anchor bottoming out when it is tapped in through the plate. The Red band helps prevent the top sleeve from binding on the expansion element. The top sleeve is there to increase the shear capacity of the anchor. Regards Technical.

What is the weight capacity on these?

Asked by: Andy27316
Thank you for your question, The fischer HM 6x80 S is designed to fix into a wall/panel with a total build up of between 38-50mm. If into plasterboard it can hold around 30kgs/fixing, if chipboard it could be as high as 50kgs/fixing.

What drill size is required

Asked by: Ellieluke
Thanks for your enquiry. The M6 x 80 Thru Type sleeve anchor requires a 10mm Ø drill hole in the concrete to a minimum depth of 65mm. this is for a plate thickness of 25mm, if your plate is thinner you will have to go deeper. Regards Technical.

FISCHER THRU TYPE SLEEVE ANCHOR M6 X 80MM M6 5 PACK (219

I want to fix a heavy duty TV bracket to a breeze block wall, are these suitable for the softer type breeze blocks.
Asked by: Millers62
Thanks for your enquiry. This is a tricky one , if they tighten up and expand in the block they will probably give quite a good result, if on the other hand they spin and don't expand fully then they won't be much use and you would be better off with a resin anchor. Regards Technical.
