I bought this with a variety of jobs in mind but mainly to replace a staircase and spindles and so far this saw has been fantastic.
Out of the box it is ready to go with a quick check that everything is in place I had the first piece cut in minutes.
The angles are accurate and allows you to set any angle to get the exact cut you need with 45 degrees left/right and 45 degree bevel.
I would definitely recommend to anyone needing accurate angle cuts or just general sawing in large volumes.

This saw looks solid and sturdy and the base has some nifty gadets and accessories like the end stop and the detachable roller support for long pieces of wood. I was also lured by the laser too!
trouble is the laser doesn't point straight (it is adjustable if you can be bothered) and is too feint for daylight and gets covered in sawdust.
The angle scale is not accurate so if you want to be sure what angle you're actually going to cut you'll need to do some test cuts and adjustments first.
The saw cuts well through floorboards but after a couple of weeks of DIY use something went wrong with the spring-loaded hinge and it became very stiff and bits of metal were flaking off so I returned it for a quibble-free refund and paid a bit more for the Makita MLS100 - much better quality and cut 45 degrees exactly straight from the box.

Stick with it, when you deal with a good company problems are put right quickly, remember this is a £100 saw not a £400 or £500 one, so expect the odd hiccup, the first saw had a faulty guard handle so I whizzed it back, the second one had the extending support firmly stuck so whizzed that one back as well.
The third one we checked in store and all looked OK, got it home and checked the blade! That was square both ways amazing for a budget saw; the laser was a bit out so I had a play. Once you figure out that one screw governs the centre and the two on the other side juggle it to make it square itâs not a bad job just a bit fiddly.
Iâve done a number of cuts and all are square and neat without any rough edges, so even though I had a couple of trips to a fro I am well pleased.
I've taken the tip from other reviewers and stuck a piece of clear plastic over the laser to keep the dust off, and as the dust bags on nearly all power tools are pointless as they just don't work I just stick an open bin bag right across the saw back that catches a good bit of the dust
How long it will last well thatâs a âhow long is a piece of stringâ question
