Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent This is a very good drill, I needed to drill a hole through my bathroom wall to fit a 100mm extractor fan but I had to go through very thick bathroom tiles first and this drill went through without any trouble in fact the only reason I had to keep stopping was because my drill was getting very hot. Perfect for the job. Well done screwfix again!! Don't forgrt to buy the hex arbor and diamond core drill guide to go with this item, also for the price of a couple of pounds you may want to buy the drill removal tool too.

Can I use a standard corded drill (none SDS) with this and what accessories would I need?

Asked by: dx90
Hello dx90, Yes, you can use the core bits in a standard chuck drill. You will need the hex arbor and a guide bit, these are available separately on codes 34411 - arbor & 57014 - guide. Alternatively we stock a diamond core accessory kit on code 83176. Thanks for using Q&A, KC

What accessories do I need?

Hi what other products i.e arbor do I need to attach this core bit to sds drill code 97553 to enable me to drill a hole through an exterior wall for a ventilation fan Thanks
Asked by: Lee2903
Hello. The core drill accessories required for an SDS drill are. Diamond Core SDS Plus Arbor (27287), Diamond Core Drill Guide 10mm (57014). You might also require these two extra products. Diamond Core Extension 200mm (60681), Diamond Core Ejector Drift (88659). Thank you for using Q&A.

Is this equivalent to a 4 1/4" bit?

The product I need to install says I need to use a 4 1/4" core cutter, that works out at 108mm, will this make a wide enough hole?
Asked by: Gpulling
Hello Gpulling. I would be surprised if the 107mm was not OK for your 108mm pipe but if you are in any doubt it might be worth considering the next size up. Hope that helps. Thank you for using Q&A.

If I do not need Hammer action WHY do I need an SDS drill, surely any good sized drill will do

Asked by: Kswoolf
Hi Kswoolf, This must NOT be used with a hammer action. Ideally they require a relatively powerful, slow revving drill. This can be a conventional corded drill or an SDS drill with the hammer action turned off. I hope this information is of help to you.

Do I need an SDS drill or will a good drill do the job, also does it need hammer on or off

Asked by: Kswoolf
Hello Kswoolf, You will need an SDS drill in order to use this Diamond Core Drill Bit. It does not require the Hammer function to be active in order to drill the hole.
