Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good... This is my first planer and I'm quite impressed with how easy it is to use especially when compared to a manual plane! The only problem that I have found so far is the dust collection isn't that great, but then I haven't come across many tools that do have decent dust collection!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Planer First off, I have no experience of other electric planers so I'm not the voice of experience here..... First jobs was to level off some pallet wood for some planters/tables I'm making. The planer seems decent quality, comes with a guide so could probably be use to make some rabbets on the edge of wood. It was very easy to use and leveled things off much quicker that I would have achieved with a hand plane (that would have cost more money). The finish wasn't perfect (possibly down to me more than anything else) but I didn't need a perfect finish as I was going for "rustic" look. I did give the table top a once over with the belt sander after and it looked great. To summarise; if you want a cheap planer to quickly level off some wood or make a door fit after fitting new carpets or something. This is for you. If you are making high end, highly finished furniture then some TLC and a hand plane are maybe what you are after.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product I bought this planer to shave back a couple of doors after new carpets were fitted - it shaved off 10mm quickly and with ease (2mm increments). Not sure how long it will last but it would have cost more to get someone to do the job for me.

Should the cylinder which holds the blades be perfectly in line with the base plate?

On mine the cylinder is 1 or 2 degrees away from being perfectly true with the back of the front plate. I'm not getting very straight cuts and I'm not sure if this is related.

I want to strip the veneer off some doors. The veneer is coming off in tiny pieces with a crowbar. Would this be a good alternative tool for the job?

Asked by: DIYKL
Hello Diykl. As far as we are aware it possible would take the veneer off the doors, the problem being is what doors are made off under the veneer could give you problems. Therefore we advise that you contact a local trades-person who will be able to view and assess your particular requirements. They will be able to provide further advice for the usage of the planer. Thank you for using Q&A, [BH].

Is it possible to obtain a replacement dust bag for the Energer ENB466PLN planner

Asked by: adiamo
Hello Adiamo. A spare dust bag is not available from Screwfix. I would advise looking online for a generic dust bag with the same size connector as the planer. Hope that helps.
