Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grrrreat Concrete Screws Great Screws. I use boxes & boxes of these to fix Ufh clip-rail directly into concrete floors to securely hold multiple pipes down. These screws only need the correct size hole drilled into the brick/concrete, then you can screw them directly in without the need for plugs or resins. The box even comes with a new star driver bit in every box!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fuss-free frame fixing!! I used these for "through the frame" fixing of upvc windows as I could not use brackets. They are a doddle to use and did not require any packing. Simply get the window level and in the correct place (I used g-clamps) drill straight through both frame and surround into the substrate with a 6mm drill (make sure you drill at least 5mm deeper than the screw length) and screw in using the T30 supplied bit. The fully threaded shank means the frame is not pulled out of square. Please note that the heads do not self countersink into upvc, but this did not matter with the type of frame (veka casement) I was fitting. Check that the heads being a little proud do not foul any part of your window and you'll be fine.

Using these to fix scaffold boards to brick wall?

Can anyone help, I'm going to fix scaffold boards to an internal brick wall as was wondering if I could use these screws to go straight through boards into wall. I would normally battery off 1st but can't afford to lose to much space in the room.

Size hole to drill into brick for easydrive 7.5mm x100mm

Been through all the reviews people recommend all different size bore holes which is it 6.5 8.00 or somewhere in between.?
Asked by: Anonymous
Hello, As this product is self drilling, pre-drilling will not be required. If you would like to pre-drill for this product we would be unable to advise a size. Thank you for using Q&A.

Can these be used on thermalite blocks??

Asked by: BuzzBee123
Hi BuzzBee123, We'd have to advise against using these for thermalite and other lightweight blocks. There are screws & fixings designed specifically for this kind of block which would likely perform much better than these concrete screws, search 'thermal block fixings' to find them on our website. Thanks for using Q&A, KC

RE: UPVC Door fixing

Thanks for the reply, however, what size HSS drill bit is needed to drill through the metal in the door frame I know a 6mm masonry bit is needed for the masonry, is the same size HSS bit or a larger one required to go through the metal in the door frame ?
Asked by: kingcoal
Hi kingcoal, If you require a clearance hole in the uPVC frame then the drill diameter needs to be 8mm. Thanks for using Screwfix Q&A. JT
