Great Tile Drill Very pleased with this purchase. Needed it to drill holes in tiles for 15mm pipework. Did the job faultlessly. Use some tape to help get the drill started and made a wooden former to keep it in place by drilling a hole through a piece of wood to help hold the drill in place. As soon as the drill got through the glaze, which it did easily, I poured a little water in to help lubricate and cool the drill bit. Went through the rest of the tile easily. 25 Mar 2015
Didn't meet expectations I bought this to drill a hole in some 9mm Porcelain tiles. I'd tried and failed using my masonry bits (as I expected I would) so I purchased one of these to feed 15mm copper pipe through. Initially it started well and I managed to get about 4mm into the tile and then I started to see sparks. I checked the end and the diamond had worn off. As I only need to drill 2 holes, and the price on this is unbelievably cheap at £2.99, I went and bought another one. I finished the hole and managed to get about half way through the second before this one burnt out. In the end I finished the job with a 7mm Erbauer diamond bit. Much better quality. Overall I was tempted by the price and the old adages go 'if it looks to good to be true then it usually is' and 'buy cheap, buy twice'. 21 Jan 2015
Excellent result Was installing a heated towel rail in place of the bathroom radiator and needed to drill a hole through the floor tiles to reposition the 15mm radiator pipe. The floor tiles are Category 5 hardness upon which masonry drills made no impression. This diamond core drill, however, did an excellent job. I followed the advice given in previous reviews, as well as the instructions supplied (kept the bit wet, dipped it into water every 10 seconds or so, cleared away the debris from the cutting site and let the drill cut at its own pace). The result was a perfectly smooth, accurate hole just the right size for 15mm pipe. Took about 20 minutes, but well worth the patience. The core drill is still good to drill more holes if required. Excellent value as well. 12 Jun 2014
Good value I needed to drill four holes in thick porcelain tiles to run 15mm copper through. This drill bit drilled all four with no problems at all. I did use it wet, dribbling water onto the bit from a mug but I'm not sure if i really needed to do that! It certainly was good enough for me and saved me spending 6 times as much on another diamond bit from another manufacturer. Happy Driller. 22 May 2014
