First used Conex joints 10 years ago. Have always found them to be a useful alternative to solder or compression, particularly if you are modifying existing plumbing and you cannot use a blow-torch or there is no enough room for spanners. I suspect pro plumbers would knock them but hey we all have dodgy "pro" plumber stories. Only ever had one faulty joint, (broken "o" ring, so worth inspecting before installing), as there will be more flexing I always make sure runs are well supported.

Real pain to fit in a confined space, very easy to damage the seal as no lead in to keep aligned on pipework
