Rated 4 out of 5 by from Allow for the lip Well presented fan. Could just be me but the facia has a lip which makes fitting trickier for a plastered solid walls. Ideal for dry lined or plaster board walls though, where making a recess for the lip would be easy.

Would this be a suitable replacement for a 15 year old Greenwood Airvac S/R90?

Hi there. I believe you have a centrifugal 100mm bathroom fan. The DX100 is a 100mm fan and would therefore fit in the space in the same way, but it is an axial fan. The thing to consider is how long your duct run is. If it's less than 2.5m long, then the DX100 will do a good job, and best results will be at it's highest setting. If the ducting is over 2.5m then an alternative centrifugal fan would be the best solution for a fan that fit's in the same way. Beyond this for high extraction needs, you might consider an inline fan, but these are mounted in the loft or ceiling space, so would require a new installation. I hope this helps.

How many electrical connections

Having just picked up a Xpelair DX100TS I find it needs three electrical connections. Does the XPELAIR DX100S 6.7W BATHROOM EXTRACTOR FAN have two or three. My feed has two only.

Hi there, yes you are correct the DX100TS model has three terminal connections (live, neutral and timer). The DX100S model has only two terminal connections (live and neutral). If the feed at your existing installation has only two wires (live and neutral), then the DX100S model would allow you to make the installation without reconfiguring the existing wiring. Remember that changes to existing wiring need to be carried our by a qualified person in line with the prevailing building regulations. We hope this helps.

Can this fan be fitted directly above a shower?

Hi, I note that everyone agrees this product is quiet but I am wondering how good it is at removing steam/condensation from the shower room?
