Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissappointed Purchased two of these (white & grey) Both do not appear to be operating efficiently / as you would expect. Have had all pipework, & boiler checked and rechecked. Have had noises, flow issues and heat issues. Currently trying to return, I would simply avoid. Two plumbers have indicated as a faulty product , it is proving more difficult then expected to resolve. All other radiators in the house out perform these and are all a lot cheaper. Have a vertical radiator in the kitchen and the difference is staggering. I will be replacing these at some point so in my opinion why risk it. Would rather be writing a positive review but unfortunately I can not in this instance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Quality Radiator This is the second XIMAX radiator I have purchased and both are very good quality. The only criticism is that at these prices a better selection of fittings should be provided for wall mounting rather than the screws and raw plugs in the kit. I used Fisher FSA bolts (120mm) for this job as they will take both the weight and also solve the gap between the plaster board and the block work problem in one go.

Does this radiator contain baffles? It's a question asked by plumber that will be installing this radiator for me.

Asked by: ChrisMK

How far away from the wall does this radiator extend?

Asked by: Bydie

TBOE connection?

Do these radiators benefit from TBOE (top bottom opposite end) connection, as without a baffle, feeding in and out at the bottom is likely to bypass the top of the radiator. Also saves on pipework.
Asked by: MikeDu

Hole centres.

Can I assume 590mm will be the width for the pipe hole edge to edge of radiator. Thanks Mal
Asked by: Malko

What type of TRV do I need for this radiator i.e angled or straight? I want the valve control to be in a vertical position to the side of the radiator.

Asked by: ChrisMK

Can this radiators be fitted with pipes coming vertically out of the floor ?

Asked by: Deeny
Hello, Yes you can fit this with your pipes straight out from the floor. You will need to buy angled valves to suit your pipe work.

Should this radiator take 1 hour to fully heat up?

All other rads on the system get hot within 15 mins but the Ximax starts to heat third front tube first and only fully heats all tubes after one hour. Heating system has been fully bled and valves are fully open on the Ximax.
Asked by: JanGeorge
Hello, This sounds like it is a system issue. These radiators are not fitted with baffels which means they work on the power going into the radiator - the system will need to be rebalanced when fitting.

What is the overall width including the valves?

Asked by: Andrei1972
Hi, The width will depend on what valves you use as they can all be different. The width of this radiator is 472mm so you would then need to add on your valves widths - they are normally around 40-44mm

where can i get the valves shown?

the picture shows a central valve under radiator, but it doesnt seem to be on screwfix website, so where can i get it?
Asked by: afteranswers
Hi, these are on the Screwfix Website. If you search Ximax central valve then all the different kinds will come up on the Screwfix site. You will need angled valve for any pipe work coming out the wall and straight for any pipe work coming from the floor.

Which valves fit this rad, seems to be two chrome options?

XIMAX AURORA VERTICAL DUPLEX DESIGNER RADIATOR ANTHRACITE 1800 X 450MM (71180)
Asked by: WS001
Hi, The two different options would be straight and angled. The straight valves would be used if pipe work if coming from the floor up into the radiator. Angled is used if the pipe work is coming out of the wall and into the radiator.
