I believe the time saving don't just benefit the professional electrician, because they save everyone time. I can work in the sure knowledge that my joints are secure and protected. I always secure the box which has the benefit of increasing the security of the cabling. A zip tie protects from uninformed tampering and the flat lid allows for labelling to make the life of whoever follows me, that little bit easier

Convert a plug fitting into a light fitting

Plug fitting in the kitchen- intended for an extractor fan. Wondering if the plug could be converted into a light fixture- from trying to research this, I can’t see if this would be doable, but if it was- would I use a junction box like this to do that?

If I cut the wire of a kettle in half, can I use this to join?

The box is designed for lighting but technically it is possible however the box is not sealed. I would consider using a WISKA box instead with better sealing given the application.

Does this junction box come with the 3 x 224 connectors

Is this box suitable for splitting 1 x power in and giving 3 x power out ? Assume the connectors take 2 cores into each side ?

The boxes do not include connectors which need to be purchased seperately. The 224-112 connectors in the picture only have 2 conductors on the supply side and 1 on the load. If you want to connect more conductors you will need to look at the 221 or 773 series.
