Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job as advertised I don't really have anything t compare these to as I've previously only tried a wire brush attachment to remove masonry paint from a concrete wall. It is certainly much, much better than the wire brush. It takes off the paint quite quickly and if I'm not careful, also scores the concrete underneath. Other reviewers say it leaves a smooth surface but I'm not really finding that. It is good enough to repaint though. One disk seems to to about 4 or 5 m2 which I guess isn't bad but I will probably need 5 or 6 disks to finish the job. It's quite tiring work (for an old-timer like me!) so I do it in 20 minute sessions. For information, I used it on a Black & Decker 115mm angle grinder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Paint removal made easy Used this for taking off masonry paint off a front wall. Take it easy with them and they do minimal damage to the under surface. Had to use two to complete about a 10 metre length, but well worth it!!!

suitable for granite?

Hello, I need to trim about 2 mm from the corners of a 30 mm thick granite slab, over a length of about 40-50 mm Would this be suitable? If not, what else could be recommended? Thank you
Asked by: marc11
Hi marc11, This product is designed to work on masonry, however, using it on granite will wear the product down quicker so will decrease its lifetime. We would recommend to be slow and careful when sanding down the granite and to be sure to test the disc on a small part of the granite first. Thank you for using Q&A. JBT

Backing Pad again.

Hi again The pad isnt a sticky type pad. Its a solid disc, I wondered if it needed a backing pad because of the bore on the disc, its not just a hole but a hole with cutouts as well. Will this just fit straight onto the angle grinder? Thanks again
Asked by: Phili
Hello Phili, The backing pad is required to fix the flexible disc to the angle grinder securely. The metal insert of the backing pad fits through the flexible disc then the backing pad, clamping the 2 together when tightened onto the angle grinder. I will get that previous answer amended as well, sorry for any confusion. Thanks for using Q&A, KC

Backing Pad

Why does this need the backing pad? Is because it wont attach to a grinder without it? Thank you.
Asked by: Phili
Hi Phili, Yes, the backing pad is required to attach the sanding disc to the grinder. The sanding disc is not supplied with any other fittings to hold it onto the grinder. Thanks for using Q&A, KC
